Gesamtteilnehmer: 44
Lehrgangsteilnehmer: 40
SAS Ausbilder: 2
Nationen: 4
Deutschland, Italien, Österreich und UK

Als Gäste begrüßten wir zwei ehemalige Jagdkommando Kommandeure: Oberst i.R. Josef Wanetschek und Oberst i.R.

Euer
Adi

Sincere congratulations to all course participants for the successful completion of the SAS defence courses at the Theresian Military Academy on 18 and 19 April 2009.

Through our EMPA member Matt Kindred, the EMPA was able to get the legendary SAS instructor Eddie Stone from the British elite special forces 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, B Squadron, for this SAS defence course.

Summary:
Participants in all: 44
Course participants: 40
SAS trainers: 2
Nations: 4
Austria, Germany, Italy and the UK

We greeted two former Austrian Special Forces commanders as our guests: Colonel (R) Josef Wanetschek and Colonel (R) Günter Bartunek, President of the Austrian Special Forces Association (IGJ).

Due to the good responce we will offer an advanced SAS defence training course during our Commando Bivouac from 25 to 28 June 2009 in Klatovy, Czechia.

The course is a personal challenge, since some course participants last weekend returned home with light blemishes. Even during the special warm-up training some were pushing their performance limits!

I would also like to point to the SAS survival training from 05 to 11 July 2009 in the Scottish Highlands. This is definitely a special treat.

The Presidium of the EMPA would like to sincerely thank Professor Dieter Birnbauer and Wachtmeister/Sergeant Martin Hoppenberger for making the courses at the Military Academy possible, as well as the two SAS instructors Eddie Stone and Matthew Kindred for their successful execution of the SAS defence courses at the Military Academy. A particular ‘thank you’ also goes to our EMPA Vice President and “paparazzo” commando Wolfi, who always supplies us with great pictures!

Horrido and Glück-ab
yours
Adi
