High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) Jumping
Ein Erlebnisbericht über einen Höhensprung High Altitude Low Opening (HALO)
Herzlichen Glückwunsch an unsere beiden European Military Parachutists Association (EMFV) Kamerad Matthias Zahner (Deutschland) und Florian Krupicka (Österreich) zu Ihren Höhensprung High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) aus 7800 m auf dem Flugplatz Fehrbellin EDBF. Gemeinsam trafen sich drei EMFV Kameraden, zwei um einen HALO Absprung mit Sauerstoff aus 7800m zu wagen und Kamerad Lukas Bauer (Österreich), der sich in der AFF Freifallausbildung vom „Static Line Springer“ abnabeln möchte.
So traf man sich gemeinsam am Freitag Abend, den 21.07.2023 auf dem Flugplatz in Fehrbellin, wo am Abend eine 90minütige Einweisung stattfand. Am Samstagmorgen gegen 06:15 Uhr wurde das entsprechende Equipment für die HALO Springer Matthias und Florian angelegt und in die Absetzmaschine Cessna 208B Grand Caravan D-FUMP eingestiegen. Ab 4000m Flughöhe, wurden wir im Flugzeug mit Sauerstoff versorgt. Bei 7500m wurde noch zusätzlich insgesamt 7l pro Minute Sauerstoff über eine sogenannte „Nasenbrille“ zugeführt. Beim Absprung aus 7800m wurden wir während des Freifalls über eine an der Brust montiert Sauerstoff Flasche mit 2l Sauerstoff pro Minute versorgt. Nach mehr als 100 Sekunden Freifall haben wir den Schirm geöffnet und sind sicher gelandet.

An experience report about a high altitude jump High Altitude Low Opening (HALO)
Congratulations to our two European Military Parachutists Association (EMFV) comrades Matthias Zahner (Germany) and Florian Krupicka (Austria) on their High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jump from 7800 m at Fehrbellin Airport EDBF. Three EMFV comrades met together, two to dare a HALO jump with oxygen from 7800m and comrade Lukas Bauer (Austria), who wants to break away from the "Static Line Jumper" in the AFF free fall training.
So they met together on Friday evening, July 21, 2023 at the airfield in Fehrbellin, where a 90-minute briefing took place in the evening. On Saturday morning at around 06:15 a.m., the appropriate equipment for the HALO Springers Matthias and Florian was put on and the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan D-FUMP unloading machine was boarded. From an altitude of 4000m, we were supplied with oxygen in the plane. At 7500m, a total of 7 liters of oxygen per minute was supplied via a so-called "nose cannula". During the jump from 7800m we were supplied with 2l oxygen per minute via an oxygen bottle mounted on the chest during the free fall. After more than 100 seconds of freefall, we opened the canopy and landed safely.
