The Norway Army Shooting badge
Translated excerpts from Norwegian armed forces service regulations 432 L II-IV
N.A.I.S. (Norwegian department of the international shooters union). Medal instituted in 1939.
Rifle shooting is conducted on 300 meters against 1,5 meter target or on 200 meters on 1 meter standard international target.
Weapons class A – Precision/competition rifle
Program:
• 3 shots in each position (Standing / kneeling)
A total of 6 shots trial.
Main shooting:
• 10 shots lying down in 3 minutes.
• 10 shots kneeling in 4 minutes.
A total of 20 shots in 7 minutes.
Weapons class B – standard military rifle with open sights (H&K G-3).
Program:
• 3 shots in each position (Standing / kneeling)
A total of 6 shots trial.
Main shooting:
• 10 shots lying down in 3 minutes.
• 10 shots kneeling in 4 minutes.
A total of 20 shots in 7 minutes.
Small caliber weapons (cal .077)
Conducted on 10 meters with 60 shots.
Program:
No time limit.
Main shooting:
• 30 shots lying down.
• 30 shots kneeling in.
A total of 60 shots.
Targets are to be marked after each series.
Scale Class A (Precision/competition rifle)
Golden medal class A: 185 points
Silver medal class A: 170 points
Bronze medal class A: 160 points
Golden pin class A: 150 points
Silver pin class A: 140 points
Bronze pin class A: 130 points
Scale Class B (Standard Army rifle):
Golden medal class B: 175 points
Silver medal class B: 160 points
Bronze medal class B: 150 points
Golden pin class B: 140 points
Silver pin class B: 130points
Bronze pin class B: 120 points
Scale small calibre (10 m):
Golden medal: 550 points
Silver medal: 540 points
Bronze medal: 525 points
Golden pin: 515 points
Silver pin: 510 points
Bronze pin: 500 points
Golden medal may be worn as a ribbon according to Norwegian armed forces dress regulations TJ 12-1.
Administrative:
Protocols to be entered by both unit commander and shooting instructor. Instructor keeps records noted.
