The European Military Parachutists Association (EMPA) is in a strong surge

The membership of the European Military Parachutists Association (EMPA) is in a strong surge. Due to the exceedingly numerous jump, sports, marksmanship and competition offers and through the outstanding dedication of the board under Vice Presidents Adi Schoemer the number of members of the EMPA grows constantly.

Especially at the "International Mountain and Airborne Ranger Competitions" conducted at the Infantry School in Saalfelden, Austria, teams from various special units of different participating nations meet to measure their skill and endurance.

Meanwhile talk has even spread to Japan, that there are numerous "special commands and special competitions" to attend at the EMPA. At in all 18 jump events in Czechia, Poland and Slovakia, it was possible to jump for the coveted EMPA wings or the Slovak, Polish, Czech, American, Thai, Dutch and Indian military parachuting badges or the new Legion of Frontiersmen wings.

In 2007, in all 917 static-line jumps were made, whereby 561 soldiers, policemen and reservists from 14 nations attended our events. A proud account.

Things were happening in the far north, too. Thus, the jump events of our EMPA member Reinhard Lill in Flensburg were constantly fully booked, and the EMPA wings a coveted jump badge. Congratulations dear Reinhard on your nice accomplishments and a special "Good Luck" to you and your fellows in Flensburg.

The highlight in the year 2006 was the visit by General Horhiar Singh, YSM of the Indian Armed Forces Airborne. Numerous EMPA fellows could thereby jump for the India wings.

For the first time a jump bivouac was also successfully conducted in 2004. Highlights there were the night and water jumps, as well as the award of the American "Grenade" marksmanship badge. Unfortunately all participants failed at the demanding disciplines for the American Physical Fitness Badge. This year we will take on this challenge anew.

A special experience at the EMPA events constitutes the international participation and lived companionship.

Beginners' jump courses aside, for "old airborne veterans" equipment, night, water and HAHO/HALO jumps or jumps into unknown terrain are organized. Here especially the free fall training in the EMPA should be emphasized. Thus in 2009/2010 any EMPA members were able to qualify for the international free fall jump license. The corresponding free fall courses are conducted at low cost through fellows Corporal Björn Korth in the (EMPA Airborne School) in Klatovy / Czech and Flensburg / Germany. Please note the corresponding programs on our web site! With over 1100 free fall jumps conducted, the results can be seen, too.

As continued training, courses for relative work, video, photography and filming of the jumps are offered. The prices offered here lie far below the usual market prices.
